Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has worked extensively with the Iowa Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program since the current program started in 1987. Being an Iowa-based consultant, most of our work is for Iowa communities. We are actively involved in working with the staff in IEDA responsible for the Community Development Block Grant program.
Our firm carefully monitors the trends and focus of the CDBG program, especially in recent years, as the competition for grants has become more intense.
Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. can assist the grant writer in providing language and explanations of the project designed to enhance the point-scoring ability of the grant application. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. understands that many projects may be critical to individual communities. Often the success in obtaining a grant is how well the project and its need are outlined in the grant application. Our ongoing work with CDBG staff, councils of governments, and grant writers in Iowa allows us to assist our clients in maximizing their potential to obtain a CDBG grant.
Since the CDBG’s inauguration in 1987, Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. has participated in over 100 CDBG-funded projects across Iowa.
